Confrontation Manager™ - persuading others to want what you wantTraining date: Date to be confirmed. Register your interest now and we will keep you informed.Workshop descriptionEver wanted to be better at getting your own way? Then help may be at hand… Confrontations are an intrinsic part of our daily lives - whether we realize it or not. We often associate the term "confrontation" with something overtly aggressive, such as war, or industrial negotiations. However, many of the interactions we are engaged in on a personal or professional level are collaborative confrontations – and Confrontation Management can help us manage these more effectively. What is a “collaborative confrontation”? Interactions are all about give and take. When we discuss where to go with our partners on a Friday night we are engaged in a collaborative confrontation. Bar or theater? Action movie or love story? We are attempting, albeit without much at stake, to win another person over to our position. In our professional lives, the stakes are much higher. Friendly mergers, parliamentary bills, defense alliances, the Kyoto Protocol: these are all attempts to collaborate, but they require periodic bouts of confrontation to move forward. Confrontation Manager allows us to manage our confrontations – whether or not they are collaborative – with greater efficiency. Confrontation Manager™ is founded on the science of Confrontation Management, a formal way of representing and analyzing confrontations. Using Confrontation Management allows us to:
While Confrontation Manager™ makes it easy to model complex confrontations, Confrontation Management can be applied informally, in all walks of life. The workshop will cover the following material:
