The "Show standard deviation with average" option controls whether a horizontal bar is shown sized to the standard deviation at the top of the average bar. The change will be reflected next time a graph is refreshed.
The "Transition effects" option controls how the software changes from one prompt to another, and to the results graphs. Transitions help to make it clear when the question has changed, and the group has moved on to the next prompt. The transitions available are:
| · | No transition - a simple change of display
| · | Slide down/left - a shrinking display revealing the next item below
| · | Slide left - a slide of the display to show the next item
| · | Roll left - a rolling paper effect revealing the next item
| · | Roll down - a rolling paper effect revealing the next item
| · | Wipe radial - a rotating reveal of the next item
| · | Wipe circle out - a circular reveal of the next item
| · | Wipe diagonal - a diagonal reveal of the next item
| · | Blend - a fade from one item to the next
You can see the effect of each one on the preferences dialog as you change the selection, or by pressing the test button.
