Export element assessments
Return to Introduction  Previous page  Next page
When you have finished your assessment session, you can export the results back into Decision Explorer®. To do this you must export the results back into the Decision Explorer® model from which the elements were originally taken. The results are transferred as either sets or text appended to the concept text. Votes and rankings cast appear in square brackets at the end of the concept text. Matrix assessment results appear in sets.

In Decision Explorer® (and the cognitive mapping methodology) the short phrases which represent or express ideas are referred to as "concepts". In Impact Explorer™ the unit of basic data entry is referred to as an "element". The elements are short phrases representing potential factors or events.

When you import elements from Decision Explorer® the concept reference numbers, which Decision Explorer® uses to identify the different pieces of information will also be transferred into Impact Explorer™. (When you enter elements manually there will be no reference numbers associated with the elements, as you enter the element text). If you edit in Impact Explorer™ the text of an element imported from Decision Explorer®, the reference number will be cleared and you cannot export its results again. Edit in Decision Explorer® if this is needed.
