Change COM port

Opens the Select Port dialog, which allows you to change the COM port which the PC is using to communicate with the radio response system. This will usually be used when the software is first installed and may be used subsequently if the PC on which Impact Explorer™ is running also has modem/ fax software and hardware on the selected port. When you have selected a COM port Impact Explorer™ will search for the base station. If it cannot find the base station the message "base not active" will appear in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. When the base station has been contacted (i.e. the COM port chosen is acceptable and the equipment is functioning properly) this message will disappear.



If you choose to cancel the dialog, the software will activate the demonstration mode until you select a valid port.
